In my postdoctoral work  in the lab of Andrea Soranno, I'm assessing intrinsically disordered protein conformational dynamics of the bacterial transcriptional machinery using single-molecule fluorescence-based approaches such as FRET and FCS. Combined with simulations and bioinformatics, this work suggests that conserved IDR sequence features broadly tune transcriptional activity.
