Bio

Academic Bio
I did my undergrad and Masters at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where I gained an appreciation for biological kinetics and thermodynamics through my teaching and research. I then came to Washington University in Saint Louis for my PhD in the lab of Eric Galburt, using kinetic approaches to understand the process of bacterial gene regulation. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at WashU in the lab of Andrea Soranno, studying the conformations and dynamics of intrinsically disordered protein regions found within the transcriptional machinery using single molecule approaches. As I have been extremely fortunate with the opportunities presented before me, continuing my academic career, it's my intent to provide mentorship to those historically underrepresented in the sciences while exploring novel aspects of molecular biophysics.

More About Me
I'm a midwesterner - lived in Illinois for the first 25 years of my life and then made the giant leap across the Mississippi river into Missouri.
My dog Hadi, while not napping or sunbathing outside, keeps me on my toes with long walks and frequent barks.
In my spare time, I love listening and playing music. Check out my band:
